I hope you and your family are well! I wanted to provide you with a few updates regarding what’s going on –

Impeachment Inquiry

On Tuesday, I was glad to see Speaker McCarthy announce a formal impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden and the actions of the Biden Crime Family. Just 35 days ago, I penned an update on how House Republicans were building a case for impeachment. The House will now have greater legal tools to investigate allegations of bribery, high crimes and misdemeanors related to the invasion at the southern border, and a two-tiered system of justice that gives sweetheart deals to Hunter Biden for his crimes. My constituents want the House to get to the bottom of the Biden Crime Family corruption, even as we also fight him on the size of government that has fueled his inflationary “Bidenomics” that hurt every American family. America demands honest answers from Joe Biden.

No Mask Mandates

Americans refuse to be forced to wear a mask ever again. After our country was shut down, church doors locked, businesses closed down, elderly citizens locked away, and teachers forced masks on children as the kids cried in terror, Americans refuse to allow anyone to strip away our freedoms again. Anthony Fauci told us masking would slow the spread. Now, Fauci says masking did not prove to be effective at stopping the pandemic. I urge every member of the U.S. House to join me in supporting the Freedom to Breathe Act. I'm proud to stand with Rep. Greene to protect Americans’ freedom by banning mask mandates on public transportation, planes, and in schools.

Democrats Deny Your Voting Rights

Democrats know their policies hurt everyday Americans and make people worse off than before. Their policies don’t have merit, nor can they win in the marketplace of ideas. Since their ideas cannot win, they must find another way to maintain their control, to stay in power. That’s why they’re trying to throw Donald Trump in jail and tarnish his reputation, and just in case that doesn’t work, now they’re pushing to have him removed from the ballot as well. Why are Democrats scared of letting citizens cast their ballot for a candidate of their own choosing?

Hunter Biden Indicted

At last, we finally see the possibility of some semblance of justice as Hunter Biden is indicted on felony gun charges. The media must demand Joe Biden answer if he commits to NOT pardoning Hunter? If his handlers will bring him up from the basement, Americans demand an honest answer today.

Patriots Never Forget, Biden Already Forgot

September 11, 2001 changed the world as we know it. Terrorists took the lives of patriots on American soil. While many of us watched in horror, first responders rushed into the unknown to save lives. I was driving to Cowpens for work when my dad called to tell me what was happening. I then watched everything unfold on a small black and white tv with rabbit ears. America was bruised and bloody that day, but it was not defeated! We came together as “one nation, under God” to look after our neighbors and to take the fight to the terrorists. 

On the 22nd anniversary of the deadliest terrorist attack on American soil, the Biden Administration let Congress know they are going to allow the transfer of $6 billion of frozen money to Iran. Not only is the Biden Administration negotiating with a state sponsor of terrorism, they are losing the negotiation! This decision by the Biden Administration will embolden Iran to continue taking hostages to extort the USA and other countries.

Protect the Second Amendment

Just this last week, Governor Grisham suspended the right to carry a firearm in New Mexico. Let me be clear, the Second Amendment is under attack, and anti-gun activists will use every avenue possible to take your firearms. We saw this at the federal level with the blatantly unconstitutional pistol brace ban issued by the ATF. Congress must pass legislation, such as my NFA SBS Act, to remove outdated laws designed to take guns out of the hands of everyday people.

Gov. Grisham does not care that she took an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States. Because she is denying citizens in New Mexico the right to carry firearms either open or concealed, I call on every Member of the House to support Rep. Newhouse's resolution condemning Grisham’s actions and uphold your own Oath of Office.

What is Bidenomics?

For the third year in a row, American’s median income went down. Couple this with the rise in inflation that was reported Wednesday and it’s clear that purchasing power is decreasing. In simple terms, $1 buys less today than it did a year ago. Americans know this because they are struggling to make ends meet in Joe Biden’s economy. With groceries and fuel costing more and more, credit card debt is skyrocketing. Last quarter U.S. credit card debt surpassed $1 trillion dollars. As Americans are forced to spend more, they are putting less money into savings. With over 60% of America living paycheck to paycheck, no one should be surprised that last year was the largest single-year spike in poverty rates ever recorded. Biden’s economic policies reward adversaries like China and punish Americans. Like I’ve always said, Americans do better when government gets out of the way.

Protecting Consumer Choice

The Government of California thinks they know better than the people on what cars their residents should be able to drive. That’s wrong! Yesterday, I proudly voted for H.R. 1435 to ensure all consumers have a choice in the vehicles they purchase. I urge my colleagues in the Senate to take up this bill to which restricts the EPA from approving new regulations that ban the sale of new cars with internal combustion engines.

To convince American's of the benefits of electric vehicles, Sec. Granholm is on a road trip across the United States. In reality, this propaganda convoy showed America the shortcomings of EV’s when her gas-powered advance team blocked a family with a baby from charging their vehicle on a hot day. The elites are taking away your freedom to choose and forcing you to buy EVs while prioritizing elites over everyday Americans. Not everyone has the luxury of blocker cars on their commute.

Legislative Action

I cosponsored H.R.5406, Rep. Diana Harshbarger’s bill to establish Life.gov, a website to connect expectant mothers with local pregnancy resources and support.

I cosponsored H.R.5403, Rep. Tom Emmer’s bill to protect Americans’ financial privacy by banning the use of central bank digital currency for monetary policy.

In the District

Several colleges in the Third District made great announcements this week. Anderson University was named to the Honor Roll by "Great Colleges to Work For due their innovation and collaboration for students and staff. Clemson University was named the top university in South Carolina and a top 25 university in the nation. Lastly, Lander University named Robyn Hoffman as Vice President for University Advancement and the Executive Director of The Lander Foundation. Congratulations to all!

Pastor Adrian Wideman, of Rocky Creek Missionary Baptist Church, recently gave us all a lesson in loving those who wrong us. After a thief stole gasoline from the church bus that transports students, Pastor Wideman went to social media to invite the thief to church on Sunday. Thankful for this reminder about turning the other cheek.

South Carolina is known for our amazing BBQ. Southern Living recently announced that our state is home to nine of the best BBQ restaurants. Whether you like a red sauce, Carolina mustard, or even a vinegar-based sauce, we all know South Carolina does it best.
