Greetings,
We hope you have had a great week! This week, Congressman Kim returned to Washington after a full August spent traveling around the district for more meetings about local needs and legislative business. We’re excited for a couple of upcoming events of ours, including a webinar and Congressman Kim’s September town hall. More information below!
With the start of Rosh Hashanah tonight, Shana Tovah to everyone who will be celebrating!
As always, we hope you find these updates and resources helpful.
Remembering the Lives Lost on 9/11
Monday marked the 22nd anniversary of the attacks on September 11th, 2001. We joined the nation in a day of remembrance for all the loved ones and friends lost that day. Our hearts are with them and those close to them whose lives were forever changed. We will always remember them, the selfless heroes who stopped at nothing to help others, and will continue to hold onto the memory of that day for generations to come and ensure that we never forget.

Congressman Kim Signs Petition for Ethan’s Law
Ethan’s Law is named after a young boy who was killed due to an unsecured gun in a neighbor’s home. This week, Congressman Kim signed a petition to force a vote on what would be a lifesaving law with gun storage standards and basic firearm safety measures.
Ethan’s Law would help prevent the loss of innocent, young lives.
Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month
Today is the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month! This month, we help honor and celebrate the contributions made by the Hispanic American community in New Jersey and across our nation!
Our diversity in culture, history, and experience is one of our nation’s greatest strengths.
Combating Child Poverty with the Child Tax Credit
Thanks to the Child Tax Credit Congressman Kim helped expand, we were able to cut child poverty almost in half. Unfortunately, without GOP support the credit expired. This week, we highlighted devastating data showing that child poverty rose almost 140% in 2022 without the Child Tax Credit. That means more than 5 million children in America are living in poverty. It’s simply unacceptable.
Congressman Kim is committed to continuing his work to expand the Child Tax Credit again and look after children’s well-being and futures across our nation.
A Closer Look at IRA Drug Costs Savings for Seniors
At the end of August, Medicare named the first ten prescription drugs to undergo price negotiation thanks to Congressman Kim and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). The IRA made historic progress by finally allowing Medicare to negotiate down drug costs.
Congressman Kim was proud to pass this along with his $2,000/year cap on seniors’ prescription drug costs and deliver huge everyday savings for New Jerseyans.
Take a closer look at how these savings break down on just the first 10 drugs to be negotiated.
