John,
The more we learn about Donald Trump’s actions after the 2020 presidential election, the clearer it becomes to me that all Americans deserve to know exactly what transpired behind closed doors — Trump supporters and opponents alike.
In Georgia, we’re fortunate that the Fulton County trial of Trump and his 18 co-defendants will be televised.
But cameras are not allowed in federal court. That’s why I led a letter with Rep. Adam Schiff to the Federal Judicial Conference calling for the live broadcast of federal criminal proceedings in cases where Trump is a defendant.
At a time when it’s absolutely crucial that Americans have faith in their justice system, we need all trials of the former president to be as transparent as possible. Sign your name if you agree → [[link removed]]
SUPPORT CAMERAS IN FEDERAL COURT [[link removed]]Republicans are trying to politicize the very serious allegations against Donald Trump, claiming that he’s the target of a Democratic witch hunt. It’s an unsupported and patently false argument, championed by Jim Jordan, who leads the House GOP’s Weaponization subcommittee, or — as I like to call it — the Insurrection Protection Committee.
But I predict that the evidence presented at trial will be so damning that it will expose the Republican line for what it is: raw, partisan misdirection.
Republicans aren’t just trying to undermine people’s faith in the courts; they’re actively trying to erode people’s faith in their government, making bogus claims that Trump is the victim of political retribution. If the federal proceedings against Trump are made public — broadcast, livestreamed, however they want to do it — then Americans will be able to see and hear the truth in real time.
So please, [[link removed]] John — join me in calling for cameras in the courtroom when Donald Trump is on trial by adding your name → [[link removed]]
