She's The Change
Conference Highlights

Dear John,
Our 2023 annual conference was one for the books -- and what an incredible story we wrote together. Thank you to all of our amazing elected officials, courageous candidates, engaging panelists, and generous sponsors who attended this year’s Ruth’s List She's the Change Conference ! It was an inspiring weekend and I couldn't be more energized as we head into the 2024 election season.
As we kicked off our conference on Friday, the Florida Supreme Court had just heard oral arguments in the challenge to Florida's 15-week abortion ban, further underscoring the importance of our work. Ruth’s List mission to elect women who will protect reproductive rights in our state is now more urgent than ever. We know the only way to stop these horrific attacks on our bodily autonomy is to elect Democratic pro-choice women to all levels of office -- and that's exactly what we're going to do.
When I took on the role of Ruth’s List’s CEO at the beginning of this year, I knew I was stepping into an organization with an outstanding reputation, tremendous talent in the staff and our hardworking board, and unparalleled support — and I’m proud of what we have achieved together in such a short time. Your dedication and commitment to our cause has been the driving force behind our success. It is this passion and drive, along with our hardworking WOMEN elected officials and impressive candidates that make this organization shine. I am so proud to be here to change the trajectory of what we are seeing in Florida politics right now. I wake up every day so proud and hopeful about the work we are doing in Florida.
Let's remember the power we hold as a united and determined community. With a renewed sense of purpose, ready to take on the challenges ahead and create a Florida where all voices are heard and where women are at the forefront of positive change.
Thank you for your continued support and for being a vital part of the Ruth's List family.
Keep fighting,

OUR AWARD RECIPIENTS
We were honored to have Jim Schroeder, husband of the late U.S. Congresswoman Pat Schroeder accept The Architect of Change award on her behalf. This award recognizes trailblazers in the fight for reproductive rights and women’s equality in Florida. Representative Schroeder was an early supporter of Ruth's List and one of the organization's founding members. In case you missed it, you can watch this beautiful tribute to her below:

Named for Congresswoman Carrie P. Meek, the first Black person to represent Florida in the House after reconstruction, the Carrie Meek Award was created to honor women of color who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to public service. We were thrilled to bestow this honor on House Democratic Leader Fentrice Driskell for her groundbreaking leadership in the state House and unwavering dedication to Florida. [[link removed]]
