Hey John, a lot of people wonder about my journey and why I decided to run for governor. It's been a wild ride, so here are a few memories that sum it up:
July 2, 2001
The day I took the oath of office as the 23-year-old mayor of Nettleton. Green as a gourd, I was excited to get to work. I can’t thank the people of my hometown enough for placing their trust in me all those years ago.

At the young age of 30, I became the youngest Public Service Commissioner ever elected in Mississippi history. And I made things happen. I’ve opened up meetings that had been closed to the public for decades, brought high-speed internet to some of the most remote parts of Mississippi, put people back to work, and saved taxpayers over 6 billion dollars.

The day I launched my campaign for governor in Mississippi. I couldn’t be more grateful to have overwhelming support from voters and local community members across our great state. On day one of this campaign, it was clear to me that we could build a movement strong enough to defeat the odds.

The night I became the official Democratic Nominee for the Magnolia state. I couldn’t have done it without folks like you — who’ve been in my corner from the start of this journey — to thank for our Primary Election success. I knew at that moment that this wasn’t your ordinary campaign. This was a real movement for change.

In less than two months, Mississippi will face one of the most competitive gubernatorial elections in decades. And it’s one of the toughest challenges I have yet to face. It’s not easy to take on a well-funded, bought-and-paid-for politician like Tate Reeves. But I believe our campaign, powered by everyday people like you, can get the job done and move Mississippi forward.
That’s why I am counting on your support. We’re a few short weeks away from our crucial end-of-quarter deadline, and we need to raise $108,000 online to defeat Tate Reeves. Can I count on your donation today?
Thanks for your support,
Brandon Presley
