Dear Friend,

I’m writing today to tell you about why we at Bend the Arc are fighting for a future with safety for all of us — and why your support is more important than ever.

The bedrock, the very foundation underneath all the justice work we do is the desire for us, our families, and our communities to feel and be safe. When all people and their communities are safe, it opens up possibilities for a new future — but only when that safety is not begotten at the expense of others.

This is the work we’re doing at Bend the Arc. We need your help to win the future we’re fighting for — a future with safety for each and every one of us. Can you give $18 to help us do this critical work in the new year?

There are many paths toward safety. But the paths that are rooted in solidarity — centering those of us most oppressed and marginalized in our society — are the only paths that will build the joyful future we want for ourselves, our loved ones, and our communities.

In the coming year, I’ll be leading Bend the Arc’s work to show up shoulder to shoulder with our partners, inside and outside the Jewish community, to lift our collective strategies for community safety to new heights. This work couldn’t be more urgent. With the far right clinging to white supremacy, further weakening our democracy, supercharging inequality and violence, and giving license to authoritarianism, I know that our collective work must have a scope and scale to mirror that of the forces we’re up against.

By joining us and powering this work forward, Friend, you can help bring new visions of safety into being and bring us all closer to a future where Black liberation and collective safety are realized.

Thank you for being with us.

Shana Tovah,
Rachèl Laforest
