Hi John!
Today, I wanted to share more about a core policy of my campaign, and then I want to hear about what you think matters most to you.
As the Director of Delaware State Housing Authority, I’ve helped grow housing investments from $10 million to $122 million - but housing costs for both renters and owners are STILL too high.
Delaware is behind 22,000 housing units, which means many people searching for housing have to compete with each other over a smaller pool of units.
This drives up housing costs for both renters and owners.
This is quickly becoming one of the biggest issues facing all Delawareans, and we need a national approach to finish the job.
To address these issues, I’m proposing we do the following.
1. Extend tax benefits to homeowners to increase long-term stability.
2. Incentivize local governments to promote affordable housing in their communities.
3. Institute a Renters’ Bill of Rights.
I would love your input and ideas as well about other issues that matter most to you! Click here to share your thoughts with me.
Thank you,
Eugene
