Dear team,

Did you see our message Tuesday? Thanks to supporters like you, the Center for Reproductive Rights took legal action in three different states on behalf of women who experienced severe complications during their pregnancies and were denied care, as well as providers who fear criminalization for simply doing their jobs.

Abortion bans have caused a nation-wide public health crisis: we know that people die if laws do not change and standard, life-saving health care is kept out of reach for people in need.

We're building momentum with cases like these across the country— I hope you'll stay with us as we fight forward. [[link removed]]

Onward,

Subject: BREAKING: We're taking legal action

Dear team,
Today, we took a significant step forward in our work to defend abortion rights in the United States: We just filed two new lawsuits in Idaho and Tennessee and a complaint in Oklahoma.
These legal actions come only months after we filed our case, Zurawski v. Texas , the first-ever case brought on behalf of people denied abortions due to state abortion bans since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade .
As we expand our caseload, we need your support more than ever. Are you with us? [[link removed]]

We filed these legal proceedings on behalf of women who experienced severe complications during their pregnancies as well as providers who fear criminalization and loss of their medical licenses for providing life-saving care. People will die if laws do not change.
Abortion bans have caused a nationwide public health crisis, and these bans are putting real lives at risk. Abortion is standard, life-saving health care that doctors should be able to provide at their own discretion in consultation with their patients.
In every state where abortion is banned, people with dangerous pregnancy complications are being turned away from hospitals and denied emergency abortion care. These states must be held accountable for the suffering they have caused.
There has never been a more important time to join the fight. We need your support to build, enforce, and defend legal protections for essential health care. [[link removed]]

The lived experience of the plaintiffs makes it clear: extreme abortion bans are putting real lives at risk.
