[2]National Nurses United
Today is an exciting anniversary.
Exactly one year ago, Rep. Pramila Jayapal introduced H.R. 1384, The
Medicare for All Act of 2019, on the House floor. Since that day, this
movement has grown exponentially thanks to the work of NNU and all of
you.

This past year we’ve had four hearings in Congress on H.R. 1384 and
reached 119 co-sponsors of the bill (that’s over half the Democrats in
Congress). And with Bernie leading the race, our chances of passing
Medicare for All are even stronger. That’s why we’re proud to endorse Sen.
Sanders for President.
When Bernie is elected, we are going to need a massive wave of grassroots
power in order to enact his vision and fight every day for the guaranteed
health care that we deserve. That’s why we need to keep pushing on
Medicare for All in the House this year, and we need your help to do that.
[ [link removed] ]In honor of this one-year anniversary, please call your House Rep today
and ask them to co-sponsor H.R. 1384. We need to show them that supporting
Medicare for All is a major priority.
If your rep is already a co-sponsor, you will be directed to call Speaker
of the House Nancy Pelosi.

Hi, my name is Name, and I'm calling from Washington.
I'm calling to urge the representative to support H.R. 1384, The Medicare
for All Act of 2019.
Health care is a human right that must be guaranteed for all – and
Medicare for All is the only policy solution to achieve guaranteed health
care for everyone. Will they commit to supporting H.R. 1384?
Thank you,
Name

The truth is that just a few years ago the Medicare for All landscape
looked nothing like it does today. But thanks to the hard work and
dedication of the nurses of NNU, activists like you, and so many others,
it is now one of the most popular proposals in the country.
Few could have expected the outpouring of support we received when this
bill came out last year. But we all knew that the people were on our side,
and that a tidal wave was coming.
We are winning, but we can’t let up. Every call, every petition, and every
door knocked has gotten us to where we are today. It might not seem like a
three-minute phone call can make a difference, but added together — we’re
demonstrating how Americans are ready for and demanding change.
[ [link removed] ]Can you call your Member of Congress today? It only takes a few
minutes.
Proud to be in this with you.
