Powerful stories shared across islands

Our 09/12 conversation with Ruth Santiago, Federico Cintrón-Moscoso, and Keani Rawlins-Fernandez shined light on a reimagined energy future, from Puerto Rico to Maui.

Hello John,

We had a powerful time at this week's webinar, "From Puerto Rico to Maui: Building an Energy System for US!". Folks all across the country joined together in recognition of energy's essential role in our homes and our livelihoods. And together with activists from the Pacific to Caribbean waters, we envisioned a reimagined energy future where we all have access to and control over the energy we need for collective survival.

You can find resources from our session below–including two highlighted actions that each take just 5 minutes!
* Stand in solidarity with Puerto Rico! Tell FEMA (bit.ly/REFOCUSnow) ...prioritize communities and rooftop solar, not centralized fossil-fueled power.
* Donate to the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement ([link removed]) to support the Maui Community

Where corporations see profits, we see energy as essential to community safety, livable housing, and our relationship to one another and the environment. Together, we're visioning a REFOCUS of our energy system: when we prioritize the health of our communities and ecosystems in a decentralized energy system, we're truly all better off together.
In solidarity,
Selena Feliciano
