Folks, 

With an expired contract as of today, and no fair deal made for workers, the UAW is officially on strike.

I stand with all UAW employees, many of whom are the reason for Michigan’s strong economy, and I support their fight for better pay, benefits, and working conditions.

Union members have not only built the middle class, they’ve sustained the middle class. With record profits, workers deserve nothing less than fair compensation for the success of the auto-industry.

Let me be clear: Ignoring demands for a liveable wage is not how we treat the backbone of our economy.

I’m proud to stand with our UAW family — today and every day. Together, we’ll win the fair deal our workers deserve.
