Hello Comrades!

It’s the height of election season, and opportunities abound to support our endorsed members Rep. Mandie Landry for House District 91 and Lauren Jewett for BESE District 1 in their respective races. Rather than just handing out paper endorsements, our endorsements represent a chapter-wide commitment to our endorsed candidates’ campaigns - so let’s put pedal to metal and get these fantastic candidates (back) in office!

Mandie Landry’s campaign canvasses every Saturday morning starting at 10AM. We’ll also have chapter-led phone banking opportunities in the near future - so stay on the look out for that! If you’re available for canvassing any Saturday before Election Day (October 14th) or want to be informed of the next phonebank, get in touch with Jack R.S. at 225-907-2029 and sign up on Mandie’s site.

Lauren Jewett will also be canvassing most Saturdays and Sundays until the election. If you live in her district in St. Tammany, Lakeview, Carrollton, or Jefferson Parish, your volunteer support would be greatly appreciated and make a huge difference here! Literature drops, sign waving, and phone banking opportunities will also be available. SPECIAL MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT: Immediately preceding our next General Meeting on September 23rd, starting at 12PM at Nora Navra Library (1902 St Bernard Ave.), we will gavel in a Special Meeting to consider a bylaw change to allow the Local Council to approve runoff endorsements. Read the full proposal here. The special meeting will be immediately followed by our regularly-scheduled General Meeting, and we plan on keeping both to the usual two hours altogether.
