This country is in the middle of a social crisis and ignoring the problem is never the answer. Denial is not a life strategy.

The migrant issue has turned into the migrant crisis precisely because the federal government has chosen to ignore it. Now cities across the country are bearing the brunt. Here in New York, we can no longer wait for Washington. The state should issue their own work permits. These migrants came here for opportunity. Let’s give it to them, get them to work and get them paying taxes.

The feds have dragged their feet for too long. Better to apologize than ask permission. If they don’t like it, they should do something on their own.
Together, New York should lead the way - again.
