--Tulsi Gabbard for President--

Aloha Jack —

I don’t write these often but I wanted to let you know today about how much your support — especially right now ahead of Saturday’s critical FEC deadline — means to my sister, to me, and to peace-loving Americans all across the country.

Ever since we were young, we all knew Tulsi was different. She wasn’t interested in “normal teenage” things. Her purpose and joy always stemmed directly from being of service to God, our community and our country.

From going school to school dressed as “Water Woman” and educating our community about environmental issues when she was 16, to being the youngest female member ever elected to the Hawai’i State House at the age of 21, to enlisting in the Army National Guard — deploying twice to the Middle East — becoming a Major, serving on the Honolulu City Council, being elected as the first Hindu and American Samoan Member of Congress in 2012… to becoming the first female combat veteran to ever run for president.

I’m incredibly proud of the tough — and unprecedented — trail Tulsi has been blazing to help make our country more safe, secure, prosperous and equal for all. It hasn’t been easy.

She’s faced religious bigotry, accusations of being a Russian asset, and worse. She’s been blocked from participating in nationally televised town halls and shut out of mainstream media coverage since Day One.

But the thing about Tulsi is, these long odds don’t deter her. She’s faced them before, and prevailed. MANY people — top advisors from the DC consultant class, well intentioned colleagues, friends, family — have told her what she should say and do if all she cared about was her personal ambitions or career as a politician. But that’s not why she’s in this.

My sister is running for president because she believes we deserve a commander in chief who knows the cost of war, and has the foreign policy experience necessary to usher in a new era of peace, human dignity and true equality for all.

She’s running because she’s tired of the party elite corrupting our democratic processes, looking out only for each other and not for the people. She’s running to restore integrity, honor and a soldier’s spirit of service above self to the highest office in the land. She’s running to reach across deeply entrenched partisan divides that no longer serve us — and heal our wounded national spirit.

If this sounds like something you’re also proud to be part of, I’m asking if you will donate $10 — or any amount you can afford today — to help make sure Tulsi’s vision for our country and message for people continues to be heard at this critical juncture in the campaign. [[link removed]]
