This week the House of Representatives passed H.R. 1435, The Preserving Choice in Vehicle Purchases Act. This piece of legislation will stop the Environment Protection Agency from issuing a waiver to states, like California, that intend to limit the sale of internal combustion gas engines.
At a time when California can barely keep the lights on and has urged its residents to avoid straining the grid by using heavy appliances like air conditioners and Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers, it truly is unrealistic and dangerous to press forward with restrictions on the types of vehicles that their residents can buy.
The federal government should not be telling Americans what kind of vehicle they must purchase, especially when it would hinder American energy independence with disastrous “Green New Deal” policies.
