When inconsistent reports came out regarding the police response to the tragic Uvalde shooting in 2022, Joaquin called for an FBI investigation into the law enforcement response and got to the truth. Abbott, on the other hand, initially praised law enforcement and then refused to consider any common sense gun control measures in response to 21 children and educators losing their lives.
