Feedback on HB 1090
Thursday, February 27, 2020
We are considering an important bill in the Senate soon, and I want to ask for your input on the matter.
HB 1090 is a bill that directs the Virginia State Board of Health to conform its vaccination requirements for school children to the recommended schedule of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). (More details are here.)
Virginia already requires school children to receive vaccinations -- this bill just conforms the state schedule to the CDC recommended schedule.
This has been a controversial bill, and many of you have made your voices heard to me on this matter already. As your representative in the Senate of Virginia, I want to make sure that I am taking my constituents' opinions into account, especially for more contentious bills like this one.
I ask if you would take just a few moments out of your day to assist me in making the best possible decision for the people of the 13th District.
Please email me back by replying to this message ([email protected]) by 6 pm today then follow this format with your response:
-
Your name, mailing address (only to be used to confirm you are a constituent).
-
Ex: Jane Doe, 555 Freedom Court, Ashburn, VA 20000
-
A very simple: YES or NO.
-
Note: Yes, meaning in favor of HB 1090, and no, meaning against HB 1090.
-
Optional: Any additional reasons for your response.
Thank you so much for your understanding and input. I look forward to hearing from you all very soon.
As always, feel free to reach out to my office anytime with any concerns or questions you may have.
Sincerely,
John
Senator John J. Bell
