In 2019, House Democrats only moved on impeachment after overwhelming evidence that Donald Trump had attempted to extort the government of Ukraine, and in 2021, we needed very limited time to determine who was responsible for the attack of January 6th.
The idea that House Republicans are claiming anything remotely similar is a disgusting attack on our democratic principles.
They have no concrete evidence of misconduct. Their “whistleblowers” are being discredited left and right and they have not done the work needed to convince Americans that this stunt is worthy of the House’s time, energy and expense.
ESPECIALLY, given that we are just over two weeks away from a potential government shutdown – yet another way in which extreme partisans are holding our government hostage to get their way.
We have to show them that Democrats and I have the strength to fight back. The end of September is our FEC reporting deadline, and Republicans will be watching our financial results closely to see just how far they can push their latest political stunts.
Extreme Republicans won't be the only people watching my results closely.
Trump fixer Michael Cohen has publicly threatened to run against me, and he'll be reading my fundraising report very closely to look for any signs of weakness.
