Hi John! Arlene here -- Joanna’s mom. 👋
Joanna and I canvassing in Newport Beach last year for the 2022 election.
In the seven months since Joanna launched her congressional campaign, I have had a front row view of the race. While she’s been on the campaign trail, I have been pitching in making home-cooked meals for her family, helping with laundry, and being a cheerleader at many local events. I couldn’t be more proud of my daughter, who is also my favorite canvassing partner.
With summer coming to a close, I wanted to check in with a few important updates about my daughter’s campaign to keep CA-47 blue.
Here’s the latest:
- Joanna’s grassroots campaign is in full swing! Joanna has attended dozens of events, and she’s met with hundreds of new supporters across CA-47. She’s blazing a trail across this district, because she knows how important it is to listen and show up for the people.
- Elected leaders and organizations in Orange County and across the country are throwing their support behind Joanna’s campaign. Organizations like EMILYs List and elected leaders like Congressmembers Eric Swalwell, Linda Sanchez, Julia Brownley, Sydney Kamlager-Dove, OC Supervisor Katrina Foley, Assemblywoman Cottie Petrie-Norris, and Laguna Beach Mayor Pro Tem Sue Kempf all believe that my Joanna is the best candidate in the field. I couldn’t agree more, and this team is picking up real momentum headed into the fall.
- Joanna continues to lead the Democratic field as our best chance to keep CA-47 blue. In fact, Dave Wasserman of the Cook Political Report stated that if "Democrats coalesce around Weiss" we can put up a strong fight to keep the seat!
The end of this month marks a critical (and public) fundraising deadline with the FEC. Putting up a big number would be a huge boon to Jo’s campaign, so please join me in supporting her campaign with a $3 donation before midnight.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
From founding an organization dedicated to American values and ethics to her
pro bono law work, I am proud of Joanna’s unrelenting desire to make our community the best place it can be. I know she’ll never stop working for this community – and with the tenacity and integrity you deserve.
Thanks again for chipping in.
A proud mom,
Arlene Joyce
