Hi John, 

My wife and I just sent our kids back to school. I know that back to school season is a challenge for parents, caregivers, kids, and teachers. 

The fact is that public schools in America are not getting the support they need and deserve, and Western PA is no exception. This isn't a parent problem or a student problem—it's a national crisis and Republicans brought it on us. 

They have spent more time fighting to ban books than to pay teachers a fair wage. They've fought to defund public schools and higher education. 

That is not what our Western PA students and families need. We need investment in options that help all of our communities grow—public schools, apprenticeship programs, trade and local community colleges.

I'm running for reelection because I believe that our children's education has been used as a political football for too long. The GOP has treated teachers like enemies and our kids like puppets in their culture war.

Our children will build the future of this country, and we need to make sure they have all the tools they need to do it. Will you help me fight for an education system that serves our kids and families?
