Can I be honest with you?

I hate sending emails like this. That's why I won't beg you to donate ahead of our end-of-quarter FEC deadline, but I will lay out the facts:

My potential GOP opponent – Mitch McConnell's handpicked candidate – out raised me in the first week of his campaign launch. And shortly after, a GOP dark-money group rushed to officially endorse him.

McConnell and his allies flooded Nevada's last Senate race with over a staggering $55 million (only to come up less than a percentage point short of winning). And with TIME reporting that Nevada could deliver everything from the Senate to the White House to Republicans in 2024.

We need all the support we can get if we're going to fend off their attacks. But our FEC fundraising deadline is just days away, and we're on track to fall short of our goal. So please, without much time left, I have to ask:

Will you chip in now – every dollar makes a difference – to split between my campaign and Chris Murphy’s to help us fight back against the GOP, win in Nevada and Connecticut, and defend our Democratic Senate majority?
