Parent's Rights in Education

Hello career Americans, I announced my Solutions with Action policy that places parents and guardians at the heart of our children's education. It's time we commit to academic excellence and ensure that parents are always recognized as the primary stakeholders in their children's lives.

When you elect me as your Governor, I will commit my resources and energy to empowering parents, improving academic standards, and ensuring that every child has access to the best possible education.

MY PLAN FOR WASHINGTON

Establishing Academic Excellence and Accountability

1. Introducing performance-based funding and incentive programs to hold schools accountable.

2. Requiring every school district to develop strategic plans, identifying key performance indicators, and learning achievement gaps.

3. Enacting Science of Reading methodology using Structured Literacy as the statewide standard for reading proficiency improvement.

4. Fully funding Special Education and ensuring districts adhere to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 plans.

5. Proposing legislation mandating School Resource/Security Officers in all schools.

6. Enhancing Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs to focus on trades which results in job placement opportunities upon graduation.
