Yesterday in Congress, the Boundary Waters was a focal point of two Congressional hearings. One promoted more copper mining in our public lands, especially near the Boundary Waters, and the other hearing sought to limit our ability to defend the Boundary Waters in court. 

The attacks our Wilderness faces are mounting. This onslaught of anti-public lands and pro-extraction legislation and anti-Wilderness Congressional hearings are only ramping up. Representative Stauber and his cronies are doing everything they can to destroy the hard-fought for and won protections we achieved earlier this year.

We’ll endorse and support candidates who vow to protect the Boundary Waters from sulfide-ore copper mining permanently. We’ll be in the field with candidates and their teams, we’ll run targeted "get out the vote" ads, and we’ll strategically make sure the Boundary Waters is front and center.
