Florida voters could have a chance to overturn the state’s 6-week abortion ban and guarantee abortion rights on their 2024 ballot.
But local organizers need our help now to get this on the ballot.
In April, Governor Ron DeSantis and Republican lawmakers passed a 6-week abortion ban with almost no exceptions, putting the lives and health of 4 million women and girls in the state in jeopardy.
Now, in a move that could also impact the 2024 presidential election, our friends at the Florida Women’s Freedom Coalition are working to put a state constitutional amendment guaranteeing abortion rights on the 2024 ballot in Florida. The hard work happens now, in 2023.

Polls show that 75% of registered voters in Florida oppose the DeSantis abortion ban. Even 61% of Republican voters and 57% of Trump voters oppose the ban.
Across the country, since the Supreme Court overturned Roe vs. Wade, two things have happened when abortion rights have been on ballots: As NBC reports, "Abortion rights have won in every election since Roe v. Wade was overturned." And as The Guardian reports, abortion "drives record number of voters to polls" – even in places like Kansas.
