Many know me as the ‘woman with the whiteboard.’ But it’s more than just a
fun prop for Congressional Hearings.

The whiteboard holds witnesses accountable for actually answering the
questions I ask during hearings. As a former professor, I’m familiar with
the “can you repeat the question” tactic for stalling. And in
Congressional Hearings, where each Member is limited to five minutes, we
can’t be wasting any time. Writing out the question can prevent witnesses
from side-stepping, which has serious consequences. My questioning of a
Trump Administration official at the beginning of the pandemic got him to
commit to free COVID testing for all Americans.

The whiteboard also breaks down the math for folks at home in a way that’s
quick and easy to understand. I know most people only have a few minutes
each day to tune into the news. The visuals on the whiteboard help get my
point across as efficiently as possible (think: corporate price-gouging =
inflation).

One reason I’m running for the Senate is because Senators have twice as
many committee assignments as House Members. That gives me more
opportunities to work on legislation, and like double-roasted coffee,
imagine the possibilities of double-roasted whiteboards!

But before my whiteboard and I can take on Mitch McConnell and billionaire
CEOs, we have to win what is shaping up to be a particularly expensive
race. [ [link removed] ]Can you make a contribution of $10 today to send me and my
whiteboard to the U.S. Senate to fight on behalf of working people?
