Dear Friend,

When Bernie was elected Mayor of Burlington he made sure young people had a voice. We need that now more than ever.

When Bernie was elected Mayor of Burlington, his very first focus was to determine how to create the best environment for kids and families. That resulted in a teen center, a newspaper, and a TV show all driven by the youth, as well as an innovative childcare center, after school programs, artistic opportunities, and service programs.

These initiatives resulted in Burlington receiving an award for being the ‘Most Livable City’ in the United States and being recognized as one of the best places to raise a family.

We at the Sanders Institute believe that mayors and leaders of cities and towns all over the country can create vibrant, successful communities by embracing Bernie’s priorities of valuing, engaging, and respecting their young people.

We need your help in achieving this.

Please share this short overview of a replicable approach with friends, media and city officials And then, organize to make it happen in your community.

Thank you,

Jane O’Meara Sanders
