I couldn’t sleep last night.

Just when I should have been getting ready for bed, I made the mistake of going down a rabbit hole of voter data that all pointed to a nail-bitingly close race between Donald Trump and Joe Biden.

Then, I got even more fired up reading the B.S. being put out by “No Labels,” the dark money group that has pledged to spend $70 million to support a third-party candidate in 2024 who could easily draw enough votes from President Biden to tip the presidential election to Trump.

So there I was, at 2 a.m., fired up and loaded for bear. And I still can't shake my uneasiness, so I decided I needed to write this email to you.

Let me be absolutely clear: No Labels is in effect a front group for Trump. Some of their biggest donors are Republicans. They’ve brought on a Trump donor as a top advisor in Florida. They obviously have no chance of actually electing a third party candidate. The only impact they could have is to help Trump.

We must act now to warn voters about No Labels. Will you make a donation to Inequality Media Civic Action to help educate the public, raise awareness about No Labels, and keep Donald Trump out of the White House?

No Labels claims to be a centrist organization, but if you believe that, I have a bridge in Brooklyn I’d like to sell you.

One of its major donors is reportedly the conservative megadonor Harlan Crow. In addition, Politico reports that No Labels has brought on a major Trump donor as an adviser in the pivotal battleground state of Florida.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why Trump Republicans love No Labels. Trump supporters have never represented a majority of the electorate. He lost the popular vote in both his presidential runs and did not top 47 percent in either.

So, as long as the anti-Trump vote is unified behind Biden, Trump cannot win, as Biden demonstrated in 2020. But if a third-party candidate takes even a small part of the anti-Trump vote away from Biden, Trump is likely to be returned to the White House.

Remember: Just 44,000 votes out of more than 10 million cast in Arizona, Georgia, and Wisconsin were the difference between the Biden presidency and a tie in the Electoral College that would have thrown the election to the House of Representatives, and hence to Trump.

Biden’s razor-thin margins in these five states in 2020 came from a massive anti-Trump vote. But if a candidate from No Labels — or another third party like the Greens or the People’s Party — peel off just 15 percent of the anti-Trump vote, then Trump will comfortably win all five swing states and return to the Oval Office.

That is why No Labels is so dangerous — and why we've launched a major public education effort across all our social media platforms to warn the public about them starting right now. But we must act now, as most Americans still haven’t heard about No Labels.
