John, we have some great news to share:

Over the weekend, President Biden and G20 leaders committed to tripling
renewable energy capacity globally by 2030 to limit the rise of global
temperatures.^1

This is a direct result of what happens when our movement comes
together, John. Just last week,
we called on Biden to increase renewable energy capacity at the G20
summit. And that's exactly what he did. We are proving that people's power
works. But we cannot stop now.

Our next major climate action is in just a few days, and — with your
support today — we can hold Biden accountable for the bold climate action
we need to turn things around for our planet.

$3.50
to help us scale up our next major climate action calling on President
Biden to phase out fossil fuels? Your support today will help us send a
message too powerful to ignore.

This unprecedented commitment to triple the world’s renewable energy
capacity not only puts us back on a path to limiting global warming to 1.5
degrees Celsius. It lowers the cost of renewable energy everywhere, paves
the way for greater negotiation at COP28, and signals a big shift toward
renewable energy.

This is a big step towards a safe, livable planet — but to stop climate
chaos, we must phase out fossil fuels.

On Sunday, President Biden said that the only existential threat even more
frightening than a nuclear war is global warming rising above 1.5 degrees
Celsius.^2

As the second biggest emitter of fossil fuels, the United States has a
critical role to play in preventing further climate devastation — and
Biden must take the next step and commit to phasing out fossil fuels.

That’s why we are organizing our next major climate action in New York
City while Biden attends the first UN meeting focused exclusively on
climate.

What we are able to raise today will determine how big we can go for our
climate action in New York City to pressure President Biden to lead with
urgency, embrace the swift phasing-out of fossil fuels along with the
development of renewable energy capacity, and ensure money is there to
finance the renewable energy transition.

We need to go BIG. But we cannot do it alone:

If you can, please chip in
$3.50
— or whatever you can — so we can keep up the pressure during this
critical moment for our climate movement.

Our campaigning is working — and we must harness this momentum if we're
going to win the fight for a fossil-free future.

Thank you,

Team 350
