There is still plenty of time to enjoy the outdoors before ice and snow arrive. I Want to Hear from You about Neighborhood Roads Is there a street in your neighborhood that needs attention? Send me an email with the location and the issue, and I will take a look. Later this fall, I will join a local public works employee on a tour of streets that need work in East Anchorage. E-mail me and I will add your road to our list. Williwaw Community Garden Public Testimony Tonight: Thurs, 9/14 Last year, I secured funding in the state budget for the Russian Jack Community Garden project. The Russian Jack Community Council identified building a community garden as a top priority for their neighborhood. Now, the Anchorage Parks & Recreation Commission will hear public testimony on this proposed public space just across from the district that many of us can enjoy for years. You can click here for the proposal details and meeting agenda this Thursday, 9/14, at 6:00 PM - all are welcome to attend online or in person. This project will fix damage to the motorized and non-motorized trails in the area. We also celebrated other segments of the Alaska Traverse (formerly the Alaska Long Trail) that were funded in the state budget this year. Special thanks to Dept of Natural Resources Commissioner John Boyle for coming to this great event hosted by the Alaska Trails Initiative and Alaska Parks Foundation. As always, please feel free to reach out to me or my staff anytime if we may be of assistance to you.
