The importance of this election cannot be overstated - Virginia is the last Southern state to uphold abortion access since the fall of Roe last summer.
Our Commonwealth has seen an increase of people seeking abortions coming from out of state, who view Virginia as an oasis for reproductive healthcare.
But this may not remain the status quo for much longer - our Governor has stated that he will “happily and gleefully” sign any bill that comes across his desk that would further restrict abortions. And Senate Republicans this year came close to sending an abortion ban to him, failing only because Democrats had a slim majority and were able to defeat the measure.
That’s why I need you, John. With so much on the line, we need to be able to not only defend our Democratic majority in the State Senate, but expand it, so that Virginia can remain a safe haven for abortion access for Virginians and for our neighbors.
