As I’m sure you’ve heard and seen, the wildfires on Maui have been absolutely devastating. 

Many people reached out to ask how they could be of help in the days after the fire. I am thankful to everyone who has stepped up in whatever way they can.

The stories are crushing—families lost everything they own. Others lost loved ones. Many are figuring out long-term housing options, where they will work, and, for some, where their kids will go to school. 

This recovery process is going to be long, and it’s going to take significant resources. I am working to maximize federal support, but we are going to need the help of the entire country.
