Here's the situation:

FIRST: The Alabama state legislature drew ILLEGAL congressional maps that diluted the voting power of Black Alabamians.

THEN: The Supreme Court found those maps in VIOLATION of the Voting Rights Act and ordered the legislature to draw new maps for 2024 -- a major victory for Alabamians and our democracy.

BUT NOW: The Republican-controlled legislature DEFIED the Supreme Court’s ruling and chose to put forth ANOTHER illegal map.

It’s not just Alabama.

Republicans are trying these same tricks across the South. With fair maps, Democrats could gain up to three seats across the South.

But Republicans in Alabama and across the country refuse to draw fair maps. They know that when they play fair and square, they lose.

We cannot let this stand.
