Greetings!

 

And just like that, summer is closing out, school has started, and fall is almost here! We had a great last few weeks and hope you did too. The Congressman enjoyed visiting small businesses and community organizations across the district this summer. After the August work period away from Washington, he is ready to be back on Capitol Hill to make sure local business needs are heard.

Celebrating Labor Day

 

Last weekend, Congressman Kim and our office honored Labor Day and the American worker as a pillar of our local New Jersey communities and essential to who we are as a nation. From our boutique shops to local grocers, Congressman Kim will continue to uplift workers’ voices, rights, and is proud to stand by their side defending fairness and equal opportunity in all workplaces.

 

Congressman Kim Joins South Jersey Chamber to Celebrate and Support Small Businesses

 

Congressman Kim spoke with the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey this summer about their shared work to support New Jersey businesses. The backbone of our local economy and the heart of our communities, Congressman Kim is proud to work with local leaders and stand up for their needs in Congress.

Commemorating National Black-Owned Business Month

 

A diverse and thriving small business community is the heart of our local economy. We continue to celebrate and support minority owned businesses across New Jersey for all they contribute to our local communities and were proud to help recognize National Black-Owned Business Month this August.

 

We are committed to breaking down barriers and removing inequities that entrepreneurs face, hearing directly from business owners about how we can help and what they need, and helping deliver critical access to resources to help them grow and succeed.

 

Good Governance Week Constituent Resource Fair

 

During our Good Governance Week in August, we were excited to host a Constituent Resource Fair to bring 34 government agencies, community groups, and nonprofits together with the community at the Mount Laurel Community Center. People were able to get information and support directly from the groups and learn more about how our office and others can assist them!

Out on the Farm, Congressman Kim Talks Federal Support for Local Farm Owners

 

Congressman Kim spoke with Sherry and Jim at their Chesterfield Organic Orchards and Nursery about their experiences as farm owners.

 

We appreciated the conversation on what they look for in federal support and how Congress can support them. From access to grants, supporting a “buy local” economy, addressing workforce issues, and more, Congressman Kim is committed to looking out for the needs of our local farms.

Congressman Kim Visits Moonshot Farm in East Windsor

 

Congressman Kim enjoyed a visit to Moonshot Farm in East Windsor to learn more about their sustainability practices. With a USDA grant, they built a geothermal greenhouse to grow flowers year-round. They now also benefit from Inflation Reduction Act geothermal tax credits too!

Make Room for Some Gourmet Mushrooms

 

Last month, Congressman Kim also went to Millstone to visit the Two River Gourmet Mushroom farm. He continues his work in Congress to support local farm’s unique needs. The farm owner Kevin spoke with the Congressman about different grants and legislation that can help farmers like his grow their local businesses.
