John,

We wrote to you earlier this week about the race to replace Jahana and flip this seat red. There’s no doubt this will be a close election – CT-05 is almost a perfect 50/50 split between Democrats and Republicans.

Help Jahana protect this seat! KEEP CT-05 BLUE [secure.actblue.com/donate/JHCT-05-Email-Feb2020-FR-Q1?refcode=E1458-20200227-EOM1-SB&amount=10]Thankfully, the daily grind of the campaign is not stopping Jahana’s critical work in Washington for our community. Here’s what she has been up to in February:

*
With
Medicare,
Medicaid,
and
the
Affordable
Care
Act
under
attack,
Jahana
spoke
out
to
protect
our
care.
While
Republicans
are
busy
trying
to
take
away
healthcare
and
make
coverage
less
affordable,
Jahana
has
been
doing
the
opposite.
She
fought
to
lower
drug
prices
and
hold
pharmaceutical
companies
accountable,
championed
an
amendment
to
bring
$25
million
to
state
health
care
exchanges
like
Access
Health
CT,
and
defended
Connecticut
residents
with
pre-existing
conditions
from
attacks
on
their
health
care
by
voting
to
pass
the
Protecting
Americans
with
Pre-Existing
Conditions
Act.

*
Jahana
helped
pass
critical
legislation
through
the
House,
including
the
PRO
Act
to
strengthen
collective
bargaining
rights.
She
led
an
amendment
to
the
Protecting
the
Right
to
Organize
(PRO)
Act
to
defend
new,
voluntarily
recognized
unions
from
rushed
decertification
attacks
in
their
first
year
of
formation.

*
Jahana
recognizes
the
importance
of
taking
care
of
our
environment.
She
voted
to
designate
the
lower
Farmington
River
and
Salmon
Brook
as
“Wild
and
Scenic,”
making
the
area
annually
eligible
for
$100,000
for
conservation
efforts
and
introduced
legislation
to
continue
funding
for
the
Upper
Housatonic
Valley
National
Heritage
Area
for
another
15
years.
Jahana
defended
the
health
of
our
children
by
introducing
the
Clean
School
Bus
Act,
to
provide
federal
funding
for
school
districts
to
replace
their
diesel
buses
with
electric
ones.

The campaign is heating up, but the work does not stop. Make a contribution today to ensure Jahana can continue to bring our voices to Washington and get this important work done → [[link removed]]
