Dear Friend,
World Alzheimer's Day, September 21, is a very special day to honor the more than 6 million Americans — and the millions of others around the world — living with Alzheimer's disease. It's a day when our community comes together to put a global spotlight on Alzheimer's disease and show our commitment to care, support and research.
Thank you for your interest in our work and for standing with us to fight this terrible disease. Today is the perfect opportunity to show your generous support by making your first gift during our $175,000 World Alzheimer's Day Match Challenge.
This World Alzheimer's Day is a historic one. Food and Drug Administration-approved treatments are now available that provide real hope. These treatments slow the progression of the disease for people living with early Alzheimer's. But these treatments aren't cures, and aren't for everyone, so our work is far from over.
Because these new treatments work in the early stages of the disease, it makes early detection critical. And too many people still face barriers of cost, coverage and knowledge. We're working to change that, and we won't stop until everyone living with Alzheimer's — at any stage — can get the treatment and care and support they need and deserve.
Your support for World Alzheimer's Day can go TWICE as far. Longtime supporters and Alzheimer's Association Zenith Society members Dick and Marianne Kipper have pledged to match every donation we receive until World Alzheimer's Day, September 21, up to a total of $175,000. We need to raise that same amount by the deadline, but we don't have much time.
And I wanted you to be the first to hear about it. The Kippers' gift will help fund Alzheimer's disease research, while your donation can be matched to provide care and support and accelerate research.
World Alzheimer's Day is an opportunity to acknowledge the many achievements this community has helped make possible. Thank you for caring about this critically important work we are doing. I invite you to show your support through your first gift today, in recognition of World Alzheimer's Day.

Friend, as World Alzheimer's Day draws near, we think about the people in our own lives who have been affected by this disease. That includes loved ones currently living with Alzheimer's, compassionate caregivers — and those we have lost.
The numbers can be daunting. But when we think of the inspiring support we receive from this community, we know there is no challenge we cannot face.
Please make your generous donation, which can be doubled in impact now, before this challenge ends on World Alzheimer's Day. Your gift can be matched to further our mission to lead the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.
I am counting on you to help reach this goal before the deadline. When we achieve this challenge, your gift can go 2X as far to help:
|
Enhance care and support for those affected by Alzheimer's, through services including our free 24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900), staffed by specialists and master's-level clinicians, and ALZ Talks, a series of 30-minute webinars on early detection and other key topics. |
|
Advance research, like our U.S. POINTER study, a two-year clinical trial designed to evaluate whether lifestyle changes can protect cognitive function in people at risk of developing dementia. |
|
Advocate for public policy that will increase federal research funding and support those impacted by Alzheimer's. |
I want to thank you once again for your exceptional generosity today. You have played a key role in all of this year's remarkable advancements, and I know that as long as you continue to lead the way, the next breakthrough is within reach.
Please know how much we, and all those living with Alzheimer's and their caregivers appreciate your extraordinary commitment. Thank you, once again.
Gratefully,
Donna McCullough
Chief Mission and Field Operations Officer
P.S. Thank you for helping to get this challenge off to a great start. With your help, we can reach our $175,000 match goal. Please donate today while your gift can be matched for World Alzheimer's Day.
