Friend,

Divisive. Partisan. Dysfunctional.

That's how Americans are describing the Senate more and more these days -- a far cry from the days of being the "world's greatest deliberative body." And Senator Susan Collins is really leading the charge on that, with her commitment to placing Brett Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court and her refusal to stand apart from President Trump on pretty much anything.

But a new poll puts our chances at defeating Susan Collins better than ever: Colby College just released new numbers that show Sara Gideon leading Susan Collins, 43% to 42%.

Defeating Susan Collins is one important step toward righting the ship -- otherwise, we plunge ever deeper into uncharted waters, where facts don't matter and being "right" only matters when being "right" helps your political party. Electing Sara Gideon is the way to fix this: Donate $5 or more now before midnight to help Sara Gideon seize the momentum of this huge new poll and let's flip this Senate seat.

Sara Gideon is running to give Mainers a real voice in the Senate, and she raised an impressive $3.5 million last quarter -- but now that Susan Collins knows what she's up against, she won't back down.

This new poll proves it -- and a 1% difference is huge, but a win is far from certain. An investment right now will make sure that margin grows bigger and bigger, and ensures that we can defeat Susan Collins in November and elect Sara Gideon in her place.

We have an end-of-month goal of raising $5,000 for Sara Gideon before midnight tonight: Will you donate $5 or more to help defeat Susan Collins, and elect Sara Gideon to the U.S. Senate?

Sincerely,

Chuck Schumer
