This is urgent, team: A Trump-appointed judge from Texas, Andrew Hanen, just ruled against DACA again.
Judge Hanen reaffirmed his 2021 decision to shut down the program to new applicants.
Here’s what this means for DACA recipients: Despite Judge Hanen’s attempt to end DACA once again, DACA remains open for renewals only, so we’re still protected and will be able to continue renewing.

The only reason Judge Hanen didn’t shut down DACA for everyone was because he didn’t have the authority to do so. Now our fight may eventually head to the Supreme Court, where we’ve won before, but now is not the time to take anything for granted.
Even though our fight is for permanent protections, we cannot ignore the reality that DACA may be in danger — and along with it, the protections and life-altering benefits that hundreds of thousands of immigrant youth rely on.
