Starbucks Workers United Day of Action
Thursday, September 14th
8am – 9am: Med Center (6600 Fanin St.) - RSVP
4pm – 5pm: Gulfgate (1450 Gulfgate Center Mall) - RSVP
In the face of Starbucks' attempts to crush the union, Starbucks workers have organized, gone on strike, and pressured the company to quit union busting. Now it’s time for Starbucks customers and allies to join the fight.
Join Houston DSA and other Friends of Labor on September 14 to stand in solidarity with Starbucks workers and demand that Starbucks quits union busting and respects workers’ right to organize. We’ll meet outside of the Starbucks with signs and petitions to engage customers and passerby in support of Starbucks workers.
Canvassing for Yes on Prop A!
Saturday, Sept 16th – from 10am – 12:30 pm
Meeting at Hermann Park – More Info and to RSVP
Canvass with Houston DSA to talk to our neighbors about voting YES on Proposition A this November! Proposition A is an amendment to the city charter, and it will allow city council members to add items to the city council agenda. Currently, only the mayor has the power to add items to the agenda. In other words, control what city council votes on. To find out more please click HERE.
There will be other events from fellow groups that we would encourage checking out this weekend as well. Please be on the lookout as we will post about them in social media.
If you are a member of Houston DSA, then most likely check out announcements on Mattermost.
Not on Mattermost, but are a member? Send us an email at [email protected], and we can help.
Also – We have a new Instagram account! The other one is no longer being used, so please stop following that one and start following the new account dsa.houston. Please don’t get confused with our old one dsahouston.
If you are not a member, please check out dsausa.org/join for more information on how you can be part of this great group and join the fight for the working class!
Enjoy the weekend y’all, and SOLIDARITY!
