Friend,
On Monday, Storm Daniel swept through northeastern Libya where approximately 664,000 people — including more than 280,000 children — live. The torrential rainfall and high wind speed caused two dams to collapse leading to extreme flooding in nearby towns and produced extensive damage to critical infrastructure like hospitals and schools.
UNICEF is ready to continue assisting Libyan authorities and partners, but in this critical moment we need your help to bolster crucial humanitarian aid.
Please, rush your gift to urgently reach children in Libya.
Children are always among the most vulnerable when emergencies hit. UNICEF has provided urgently needed supplies for distribution by the Libya Red Crescent (LRC) Society, including vital medical supplies for 10,000 people, 1,100 hygiene kits and clothing kits for 500 children.
Following the recent catastrophic floods and the damage they have caused, even more assistance will be needed.
Right now people in northeastern Libya — especially children — are most in need of immediate emergency relief. Help UNICEF provide essential items and more by making a tax-deductible emergency gift today.
Thank you,
UNICEF USA
