Daily Docket — Wednesday, Sept. 13

Here are some recent updates.

  • Two voters and a Republican state representative appealed a pro-voting decision — that struck down Washington state’s legislative districts — to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

  • The Ohio Redistricting Commision delayed its first meeting of the year, which was scheduled for this morning, until Friday because Republicans on the commission could not agree on a co-chair.

    • For a breakdown of the latest in Ohio redistricting, check out our alert from this morning.

  • Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Janet Protasiewicz recused herself from a lawsuit seeking to stop state Republicans from impeaching her from the court.

  • An Arkansas judge dismissed a lawsuit from a "voter integrity" group seeking to ban voting machines in the state.

  • Mark Meadows' Fulton County criminal charges will remain in state court as his appeal is litigated in the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, a federal judge ruled. Meadows is seeking to move his charges to federal court.

  • A Vermont court held a hearing in a lawsuit challenging a local law allowing noncitizens in Winooski to vote in municipal elections and some local referendums.

Here’s what’s happening tomorrow.

  • There will be a hearing in an Iowa lawsuit filed by a pro-voting group challenging multiple provisions in two of the state’s voter suppression laws. Plaintiffs say the provisions create an undue burden on the right to vote in violation of the state constitution.
