Friend, for months I’ve pointed out something obvious
about the folks who oppose the Atlanta police training facility:
Most of the opposition is fueled by radicals who don’t like police to
begin with and don’t understand the needs of law enforcement or our
community.

And most of the loudest voices aren’t from Georgia to
boot. Case in point — this email from AOC mobilizing opposition.

tember13hf    This is something you should be aware of when
it comes to the training facility, Friend. And it’s something we
all must be aware of as we head into 2024.

If Democrats from across
the country are organizing to oppose a police training facility here
now, you better believe they’re going to organize to win elections here
in 2024.

I’m not up for reelection, but I’m going to do everything I
can to ensure Republicans win up and down the ballot here.

DONATE NOW My team will put every dollar to work to continue the
momentum we built for Georgia Republican wins in 2022.

We will not
be outworked, and we will continue to set the record straight on the
issues that matter most.

Thank you in advance for any support you
can give.

Commissioner John King got his start as a beat cop with the Atlanta
Police Department. He worked various assignments, including Red Dog and
Organized Crime, before joining the Doraville Police Department. Before
becoming Chief of Police, he served as a Detective and Deputy Chief.
During his 17 years as Police Chief, Commissioner King tackled
corruption, implemented community policing in at-risk neighborhoods,
and cracked down on gang violence through early intervention programs
at local schools.
In addition to his career in law enforcement,
Commissioner King spent four decades serving in the U.S. Army National
Guard — enlisting as a private and retiring as a major general.
He
deployed to Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan — earning the Bronze Star
Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, El Salvador gold medal for achievement,
meritorious service medals, and a NATO award along the way.
Commissioner King retired from active duty in 2023.
As Georgia’s
Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner, Commissioner King has disrupted
the status quo, put Georgia families first, and held the powerful
accountable. He was appointed by Governor Brian Kemp in 2019 and
elected to a full term in 2022, making him Georgia’s first Hispanic
statewide elected official.
