The Republican antics in Congress are off the charts this month.

Kevin McCarthy just announced that House Republicans are launching an impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden.

For what, you might ask? Good question, because Republicans don’t have an answer. They openly admit they have no grounds for impeachment and just engaged in an effort to embarrass and harass a President they disagree with on policy.

It’s 100% a politically motivated distraction and a historic abuse of impeachment powers by House Republicans. They want to weaken our democracy, dupe the media into regurgitating right-wing conspiracies about Joe Biden, and get revenge for Donald Trump.

Shortly after McCarthy’s announcement, his fellow Republican Matt Gaetz was on the floor threatening to force a vote to remove McCarthy as Speaker. McCarthy is caving to every single demand from his far-right members, and their response was “not enough.”

It’s bonkers.

Meanwhile, House Republicans are going to shut down the government unless they get their ridiculous demands — which change by the day. Yesterday they demanded impeachment, and tomorrow it’s going to be another culture war or corporate tax cut or abortion ban. The reality is they seem to want a government shutdown. They simply do not want a functional government, and they don’t care who it harms.

House Republicans aren't serious people. End of story.

It’s exhausting. No doubt. But this is exactly why we have to tune out the noise and beat them — deny them the power they so desperately seek. Reject their culture wars. Stop the corruption. And put an end to their tax cuts for their billionaire and corporate pals.
