Last Wednesday, I attended the Women In Leadership (WIL) meeting. I spoke on a panel, along with other women candidates for Congress Allyson Damikolas and Kim Ngyuen, about my plans to make a difference in Orange County and Washington. It’s not easy running for office as a woman, and I am glad to have shared my experiences with other WIL-endorsed candidates and local community members.
On Friday, I was proud to attend an EMILYs List panel and share what makes our campaign unique. EMILYs List is a critical organization that helps propel pro-choice women to run (and win!) elected office, and I am so grateful for their endorsement and support in our critical race. Our panel was moderated by the incredible Maya Harris (Vice President Harris’ sister), and other panelists included Congresswoman Emilia Sykes (OH-13) and congressional candidate Lateefah Simon (CA-12).
As discussed on these panels, EMILYs List and WIL exist because the deck is stacked against women candidates. I am incredibly proud to be endorsed by these organizations who have worked for decades to level the playing field.
