Hello and Happy Wednesday! We interrupt our normal newsletter flow to make sure you can join us TOMORROW, Thursday, September 14 at noon Eastern for the Creative Capsule Residency Showcase! We hope you’ll stop by! Please register here. ![]() Left to right: Whit Montgomery's Alpine Meadows art installation; Chantell Murphy films from atop an SUV in New Mexico; Terrell Jermaine Starr stands with local residents in the village of Yehidne, in northern Ukraine. Do you know about The Creative Capsule Residency? CCR is the brainchild of Inkstick Media and Bombshelltoe Policy x Arts Collective. It’s an innovative online residency that marries creative expression with global security. We just wrapped up our first year, and were astonished to see the flowering of our first three projects. They grew from simple concepts and are now bursting into bloom. To celebrate, tomorrow the year one cohort of Creative Capsule Residents will present their projects in a public showcase. You’ll get to meet and hear from: Dr. Chantell Murphy, a rock-climbing nuclear nonproliferation expert and filmmaker. Over the eight-month residency, a personal quandary about the links between the outdoor community and nuclear weapons evolved into a documentary film project. Whit Montgomery, a world-building, satire loving portrait artist who spent his residency creating Alpine Meadows, a fictional nuclear dystopia. Terrell J. Starr, a Black journalist in Ukraine and Creative Capsule Year One Resident who reported on nuclear trauma and Russia’s war against Ukraine. We hope to see you there! Inkstick’s Substack is free today. But if you enjoyed this post, you can tell Inkstick that their writing is valuable by pledging a future subscription.
