In-person absentee voting for the March 3 Democratic Presidential Primary ends this Saturday at 5:00 pm (see below for more information). Polls open March 3 at 6:00 am and close at 7:00 pm at the regular polling locations in Fairfax County. Use this handy tool - fairfaxdemocrats.org/lookup/ - to confirm your polling place.

HB 1 (Absentee voting; no excuse required) passed with bi-partisan support on February 26. And, HB 238 (Absentee voting; deadline for returning absentee ballot) passed with zero Nay votes. It "provides that any absentee ballot that is returned to the general registrar after the closing of the polls on election day but before noon on the third day after the election and postmarked on or before the date of the election shall be counted if the voter is found entitled to vote." Governor Northam has stated his enthusiastic support for both pieces legislation. Once signed, both bills, and others that reduce the burden on voters, will become law effective July 1, 2020 in time for the September - October presidential election early voting season.
