John,
The future of Montana is at stake.
Last week, Elsie Arntzen praised a federal budget proposal that would cut $30 million from Montana's public schools. Last month, she supported a school privatization rally in Billings.
Where was she when the state legislature was considering a bill to deny children their right to an education? Or when they had a chance to finally fund public preschool?
While Elsie has been doing her best to unravel decades of progress at the Office of Public Instruction, progress that I was honored to contribute to and be a part of, Melissa has been traveling the state advocating for our children and public schools.
I am proud to endorse Melissa Romano as our next Superintendent of Public Instruction. Melissa is an award-winning elementary math teacher, 2018 Montana Teacher of the Year, and understands how the choices our elected officials make directly impact our children's classrooms.
Montana's future is on the line, and Melissa Romano is the person for the job.
Join me in supporting her campaign and help her take back the Office of Public Instruction - we can't do it without you.
Nancy Keenan
Montana Superintendent of Public Instruction 1989 - 2001
