As the GOP presidential primary ramps up, we thought we’d take a look at a few of the leading candidates running for the GOP nomination -- and their chilling track record of backing the Big Lie:
🚨Donald Trump: The key perpetrator of the Big Lie… and the current 2024 GOP frontrunner. He refused (and still refuses) to concede, spread dangerous conspiracy theories about the election, and spawned the Jan. 6 insurrection. Now, he’s facing dozens of criminal charges in four separate court cases.
🚨Vivek Ramaswamy: He may claim to be a government outsider, but he’s defended Trump at every turn, and even embraced conspiracy theories about the integrity of our elections.
🚨Ron DeSantis: He still won’t admit Donald Trump lost in 2020. And as governor of Florida, he’s pushed radical policies from book bans to voter suppression laws.
🚨Nikki Haley: Even after denouncing Trump’s actions on Jan. 6, she’s still cozying up with the same MAGA movement that attacked our Capitol.
As for the rest of the GOP nominees? Each and every one of them has promised to support Donald Trump if he’s the 2024 nominee.
Today’s Republican party refuses to give up on the Big Lie and their scheme to undermine our elections. We need to do everything we can to elect Democratic Secretaries of State who will defend our democracy from Republicans who are hell-bent on dismantling it.
