Did you get a chance to open my message from last week? We launched a September fundraiser to help support school garden programs in South Africa, and if you haven’t had a chance to give toward our $25,000 goal yet, there’s still time! This goal represents the average cost of implementing a school garden program at an Early Childhood Development program, serving children ages 0-6.
I’m excited to share that in the past week, generous donors have donated $1,204 to this campaign. Will you help us implement more school gardens that can each support up to 700 children and school staff? We know that when our global community of Hunger Champions comes together, we can reach our goal. Give now!
I will share an example with you: In partnership with Orange Farm Lakeside in Johannesburg, we’re harvesting vegetables and providing produce to local ECDs. But the program did not stop there – parents also received training to start their own gardens, improving access to nutrition, food security and self-sufficiency.
Each garden can nourish up to 700 children, families and school staff. Your gift today can truly harvest nutrition and hope for small children during the most critical phase of their development.
