This is getting to be pretty ridiculous, John.
More than 300 promotions for the most senior officers in our military are on hold. Still.
One Senator is holding them up, and you know who it is.
Tommy Tuberville.
I’ve heard of a family unable to sell a house and paying out of pocket for housing in two cities because mom or dad can’t take their next job.
I know a four-star officer who decided to retire to spend more time with his wife after a long battle with cancer. But with no confirmed replacement this officer remains on duty, and his wife lives alone in their retirement home.
Senior officers, our most seasoned commanders, are retiring rather than putting their families through the mess that Tuberville has created.
I can’t imagine how hard it is for an officer to be betrayed like this by their elected leaders after a lifetime of service.
I’m fed up. If you are too, please: Add your name. It might not seem like much, but we have to keep up the pressure. This is important. Thousands of people coming together and demanding action is how we’ll get these promotions moving.
Thank you, John.
