An update from Interim Executive Director Bilal Alkatout
Since last fall, Headwaters staff have been working to co-create Headwaters’ next chapter. We shared our last update after we had wrapped up our winter organizational retreat. Since then, we’ve been busy and we are excited to share our progress with you!
In our latest update, Interim Executive Director Bilal Alkatout shares some of the tools we've been building to help us distribute leadership throughout the organization and democratize decision-making in our day-to-day.
We hope you'll head to our website to read the full update, look at the tools we've been building to guide our work, and join us in celebrating our team’s work over the past 6 months.
Kai Anderson knows we all have a story to tell
In our latest installment of our Donor Stories project, we are excited to introduce you to Kai Anderson. Kai is a connector, convener, and equitable development advocate with deep roots in Minneapolis.
Kai is passionate about anti-displacement work in Minneapolis and facilitating spaces for conversations where all people can find and tell their stories of land use. In his story, Kai shares how his experience as a Black Scandinavian has challenged him to help lift up narratives of marginalized experiences toward learning, growth, and dreaming big while resisting white supremacy.
We hope you’ll take time to learn from Kai and his work in our community.
